Character Kids (Developing Kids with Character)
An after school program starting in each August that follows the traditional school calendar, and will be open 3:00 - 6:00 PM on all school days. Character Kids will offer a variety of programs to help meet the physical, intellectual & developmental needs of your children. Our facilities at First Christian Church include two outdoor playgrounds, a carpeted indoor gymnasium with a basketball goal, kitchen facilities, a media and computer room and quiet rooms for homework and relaxation. Kids will also receive a healthy snack daily.
On top of making sure your kids are cared for, we want to help them reach educational goals. As far as possible, we will strive to help children have their homework completed before they go home. Our staff can even provide tutoring if needed. Our on-line computer lab will give your children a chance to do extra school work via computer...or just use the computers for play!
Transportation for Character Kids is available from all Bentonville public elementary schools. Children will be picked up in our church vans, which will also be used for transportation on field trips. Every Friday at Character Kids is a "Fun Friday," including field trips twice each month. Field trips will vary - but the cost for most field trips are included in the tuition.
The director of Character Kids, and our church Children's Director, is Tiffany Snodgrass. Tiffany has a Bachelor's degree in Education and is a certified teacher who has five years of teaching experience in the Bentonville School District. She has a wonderful heart for kids as well as a love for education.
Costs: Registration fee (nonrefundable) - $50. Monthly fee is approximately $150. (Varies with number of school days in each month.)
JYF a youth group for those in 3rd - 6th grades
Designed for children from the 3rd grade through the 6th grade. Students will meet the third Sunday of each month from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for fellowship or a service project. JYF parents will be asked to help host one JYF meeting per year. Contact the church office for more information.
"CROSS Training"
This group is for students 7th through 12th grade and meets every Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Rogers First Christian Church. Transportation is provided from Bentonville First Christian Church at 3:15 p.m. This award winning, nationally recognized program includes praise band, key-notes, small groups, games and snacks.
Teen Night - Youth from 7th - 12th grades
Teenagers meet Wednesday nights for Bible study and various activities. The final Wednesday night of each month is a Teen Night Out for activities such as bowling, movies, kite flying, skating, etc. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. Other Wednesday nights each month are set aside for Teen Study Night. These meetings which last from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. are used for studies of the Bible and relevant issues.
Bibles & Bells - 4th - 6th grades
Come and learn how to play hand bells and fellowship with other students. We meet each Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This class is led by Jennifer Hufford.
Thrive - 4th - 6th grades
Each Sunday morning, students will be dismissed to attend their very own Worship Service. Exploring and studying elements of worship. Come and join in this unique worship and learning experience.
